Seven Bears Qualify for ITA Regionals

New Haven, CT - Seven players from the Brown men's tennis team qualified for the ITA Regional Championships hosted by Yale. The tournament began on Thursday, October 16 and will conclude on Tuesday, October 21.

The singles competition includes seniors Sam Garland (Bradenton, FL) and Noah Gardner (Cambridge, MA), junior Nathaniel Gorham (Los Altos, CA) and sophomores Jonathan Pearlman (New York, NY) and Kendrick Au (St. John's, NF). Pearlman, who is seeded No. 9, received a bye and will play his first round on Saturday. Garland, Gardner, Au and Gorham will play singles on Friday after the doubles competition. Freshman Andrew Yazmer (Simsbury, CT) played in a singles qualifier, but he was defeated by third-seeded Nicolas Pisecky of Marist 6-1, 6-4 in the first round of play.

In doubles competition, Gardner and Garland, who are seeded No. 9, Au and Gorham, and sophomore Charlie Posner (Cambridge, MA) and Pearlman will start play Friday morning.
