PROVIDENCE, RI - Jamie Gresh, a native of Barrington, has been named an assistant coach for the Brown men's tennis team.
Gresh, who has been on the pro tennis circuit since August of 2003, has played in the ATP Newport Tennis Tournament (2001, 2004 & 2005), while earning a ranking of 1004 during the 2004 season. In addition to continuing his playing career, Gresh served as an assistant coach at Assumption College from 2003-2005. Gresh has worked as a coach at the Jay Harris Tennis Academy and the Moses Brown Tennis Camp during the past two summers.
Prior to coaching at Assumption College, Gresh worked as a Teaching Professional at Agawam Hunt Club from November, 2002-May, 2003, and as an Assistant Teaching Professional at New England Academy of Tennis from September 2002-November 2002. Gresh has also worked at the Centre Court Tennis Club and at the St. Andrews' Tennis Camp.
A 2002 graduate of Penn State, Gresh was a four-year letter-winner for the Nittany Lions, captaining the team as a junior and a senior. He was ranked in the top-100 during the 2001 and 2002 seasons, while earning First Team All-Big Ten Conference honors. The recipient of the Holmes Cathrall Coach's Award in 2001, he was an NCAA Tournament qualifier in 2001 and 2002.
