July 11, 2001

Newport, Rhode Island - The Brown men's doubles team of sophomore Ben Brier (Dartmouth, MA) and junior Chris Drake (Needham, MA) will compete in the prestigious ATP Miller Lite Hall of Fame Tennis Championship today at the Newport Casino in Newport, Rhode Island.

Brier and Drake received a wild card berth in the tournament from the New England Tennis Association. They will compete against one of the best doubles teams in the world when they face the top-seeded team of Bob and Mike Bryan, who were semifinalists at Wimbledon last week, and won the doubles title at Queens.

Brier posted a 22-11 singles record last year for coach Jon Choboy's team, while Drake was 18-11 in singles play last year. The duo teamed four times at number two doubles last season, posting a 3-1 record.
