Chris Drake Earns ITA Regional Sportsmanship Award - Matt Shaine Named Regional ITA Assistant Coach-of-the-Year

Brown men's tennis senior Chris Drake has been named the ITA Regional winner of the Rafael Osuna Award, given for outstanding leadership, strong sportsmanship and high level of play. In addition, Bears' assistant coach Matt Shaine has been named the ITA Regional Assistant Coach-of-the-Year.

Drake sparked the Brown men's tennis team to its second consecutive NCAA Team Championship berth. He also teamed with teammate Jamie Cerretani to earn a berth in the NCAA Doubles Championship, and advanced to the Round of 16 before falling in a close match. Drake compiled a 15-6 singles mark and 15-2 doubles mark this season.

In his first season as an assistant coach at Brown, Shaine helped the Bears post a 20-5 overall record, being ranked as high as 39th nationally. The Bears finished second in the Ivy League standings with a 6-1 Ivy mark.
