Bears to Face #1 Georgia At National Team Indoor Tennis Championship

The Brown men's tennis team will face the number one ranked University of Georgia, the defending NCAA Division I Champion, at the 2002 USTA/ITA National Men's Indoor Championships, beginning February 7th in Louisville, Ky.

Brown earned a berth at the National Indoor Championship with its first ever win at the ECAC Championship in the Fall. Coach Jon Choboy's team is led by senior co-captain Nick Malone, who recently captured the Harvard Invitational Championship.

The field for the USTA/ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championship, hosted by the University of Kentucky is: Brown, California, Duke, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana State, host Kentucky, Mississippi, Notre Dame, Pepperdine, SMU, Southern California, San Diego State, Stanford, Tennessee, and UCLA.

The USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championship is the nation's premier national indoor tournament, which has been held since 1973. UCLA is the defending champion.
