Men's Tennis Concludes Action at Northeast Intercollegiate

Sept. 18, 2005

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown men's tennis team saw its first test of the 2005-2006 season at the Northeast Intercollegiate, hosted by Brown Friday-Sunday, September 16-18. Junior transfer Dan Hanegby (Herzliva, Israel) won the #1 flight in singles action, while sophomore Michael Scherer (Potomac, MD) won the #2 flight in singles.

"It was great to win the top two flights," said head coach Jay Harris. "It was a great way for Dan to make a statement coming into our program and it was awesome to see Mike play so tough in earning some great wins. But as a team, we still have a lot of work to do."

The Bears continue action next weekend when it travels to Cincinnati, OH to participate in the Cincinnati Invitational September 23-25.
