PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown men's tennis team took the courts this weekend, opening the 2007 season with a strong showing at the Northeast Intercollegiate. In #1 doubles, juniors Chris Lee (Sudbury, MA) and Basu Ratnam (Oyster Bay, NY) won both of their matches to advance to the quarterfinals. In #2 doubles, the freshman duo of Jonathan Pearlman (New York, NY) and Charlie Posner (Cambridge, MA) won both of their matches and will compete in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
In singles action, five of the six Bears competing won their first round matches, including junior Noah Gardner (Cambridge, MA) and Pearlman in the #1 bracket, sophomore Cody Simmons (Gainesville, FL) and Posner in the #2 bracket, and freshman Kendrick Au (St. John's, NF) in the #3 bracket.
