#26 Ohio State Ends 40th-Ranked Bears' Season

Knoxville, TN - The 40th-ranked Brown men's tennis team (23-6) fell to #26 Ohio State in the First Round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon in Knoxville, TN.
The Bears fell behind, 1-0, after doubles action as the Buckeyes cruised past Brown, winning 8-2 at #1 and 8-5 at #2.
Ohio State picked up a 2-0 lead with a straight-set win at #3 singles and then posted a three-set victory at #1 for a 3-0 win. The match came down to #5 singles, where the Buckeyes pulled out the two-set victory to advance to the Second Round of the Tournament.
Though the Bears' 2005 season is now over, senior Adil Shamasdin (Pickering, ONT) and junior Philip Charm (Concord, MA) will continue their seasons in the NCAA singles and doubles Tournaments. Shamasdin will play in the singles tournament and will join Charm in the doubles tournament, which begins May 21, in College Station, TX.
