#65 Bears Improve to 4-1 in Ivy League with 6-1 Victory over Dartmouth

HANOVER, NH - The Brown men's tennis team (18-9, 4-1) won the doubles point and then took five of six singles matches, including four in straight sets, to earn a 6-1 victory over Dartmouth (8-14, 0-5) to stay alive in the race for the Ivy Title.

The doubles action was close throughout as the junior Dan Hanegby (Herzliya, Israel) and sophomore Saurabh Kohli (Colaba, Mumbai, India) posted a 9-7 win at #2 doubles and the team of senior Phil Charm (Concord, MA) and freshman Chris Lee (Sudbury, MA) earned a 9-8 (4) win at #1 doubles.

Brown dropped its only singles match at #2 singles, but picked up four of its five singles wins in straight sets. #93 Hanegby led off at #1 with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win, while junior Eric Thomas (Cincinnati, OH) posted a 6-1, 7-6 (6) win at #3. Kohli earned a 6-4, 7-5 (6) win at #4, while freshman Sam Garland (Bradenton, FL) picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win at #6. Senior Luke Tedaldi (West Newton, MA) earned the other singles win for Brown, posting scores of 6-4, 6-7 (0), (8).

Brown returns to action this Sunday to host #69 Harvard in a critical Ivy League battle.
