#39 Bears Fall to #53 William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - Brown's Spring Trip took a slight detour Wednesday evening when the 39th ranked Bears dropped a 4-3 decision to 53rd ranked William & Mary. The loss drops the Bears to 14-5 overall.
Brown dropped a rare doubles point and fell behind the Tribe, 1-0. The 13th ranked doubles team of Jamie Cerretani and Adil Shamasdin teamed for a 9-8 decision at first doubles.
The singles competition was tight throughout with Cerretani capturing a 6-3, 6-7 (5), 1-0 (10-7) decision at number two and Shamasdin winning 6-2, 6-1 at number three. Senior Ben Brier came through with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at fifth singles, but the Bears couldn't hold onto matches at one, four and six.
Coach Jay Harris' team will return home and train for a week before opening its Ivy League schedule on the road at Penn and Princeton on April 9th and 10th.
