#63 Bears Fall to #17 Virginia Commonwealth, 7-0

RICHMOND, VA - The #63 Brown men's tennis team (13-6) dropped its fourth straight match to a ranked opponent, falling, 7-0, to #17 Virginia Commonwealth, which won its seventh straight match.

Brown won just one match on the day, as the team of junior Dan Hanegby (Herzliya, Israel) and sophomore Saurabh Kohli (Colaba, Mumbai, India) posted an 8-3 win at #2 doubles.

In singles action, #63 Hanegby dropped a tough decision at #1, falling to #24 Arnaud Lecloerec, 7-5, 7-5. Kohli and freshman Basu Ratnam (Oyster Bay, NY) both pushed their matches to three sets, but lost at #3 and #4, respectively. Brown started the match by taking the doubles point with wins at #1 and #3.

The Bears will look to get back on the winning track this Wednesday, when they travel to #29 North Carolina State for a 2:30 p.m. match.
