Bears Defeat Boston College, 7-0

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown men's tennis team (14-4) posted its second win of the day with a 7-0 victory over Boston College on Saturday afternoon at the Pizzitola Center Courts. Senior Nicholas Goldberg (Albuquerque, NM) helped to lead the Bears with a win at #2 doubles and a come-from-behind win at #1 singles.

In doubles action, the duo of senior Adil Shamasdin (Pickering, ONT) and junior Philip Charm (Concord, MA) earned an 8-6 win at #1, while Goldberg and junior Richard Moss (Johannesburg, South Africa) posted an 8-2 win at #2.

Brown won all six singles matches including Goldberg's thriller at #1. After falling behind 6-4 in the first set, and 4-3 in the second set, before battling back to win the second, 6-4. Goldberg took the third set, 6-3, for the win. At #2, it was Shamasdin picking up a 6-3, 6-2 win, while sophomore Eric Thomas (Cincinnati, OH) won easily at #3, 6-0, 6-1.

Freshman Saurabh Kohli (Colaba, Mumbai, India) also posted a quick match, winning 6-1, 6-3 at #4, while freshman Michael Scherer (Potomac, MD) earned a 7-6 (4), 6-2 win at #5. Junior Luke Tedaldi (West Newton, MA) won the final match of the day, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (6) at #6.

Brown continues action on Tuesday, March 29, when it travels to Albuquerque, NM to take on New Mexico.
