#41 Bears Edge Michigan State, 4-3

PROVIDENCE, RI - The #41 Brown men's tennis team (10-2) won its sixth straight match on Saturday afternoon, edging Michigan State, 4-3, at the Pizzitola Center. After dropping the doubles point, Brown came back to win four of the six singles matches and earn the win.

Brown's lone win in doubles action came at #3 where junior Eric Thomas (Cincinnati, OH) and sophomore Scott Blumenkranz (Portola Valley, CA) posted an 8-5 win.

After dropping the first two singles matches, Brown had to fight back to post the win. Senior Phil Charm (Concord, MA) won the first singles match for the Bears, with a 6-4, 6-1 score at #3. Sophomore Saurabh Kohli (Colaba, Mumbai, India) followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win at #4, while freshman Chris Lee (Sudbury, MA) posted a 6-3, 6-0 win at #5. Freshman Basu Ratnam (Oyster Bay, NY) closed out the victory with a 7-5, 6-1 win at #6.

The Bears continue action on March 10 when they host Hofstra and Fairfield in a double header beginning at 3:00 p.m.
