Bears Defeat Navy in Dominating Fashion

ANNAPOLIS, MD - The Brown men's tennis team (8-2) earned a 7-0 victory over Navy, posting dominating wins in all matches, on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Eric Thomas (Cincinnati, OH) helped to lead the team with a win at #1 doubles and at #2 singles.

Brown started the match by winning the doubles point, taking all three matches. At #1, it was the pair of Thomas and freshman Saurabh Kohli (Colaba, Mumbai, India) winning 8-2. Senior Nicholas Goldberg (Albuquerque, NM) and junior Richard Moss (Johannesburg, South Africa) won at #2 doubles, 8-5, while freshman Scott Blumenkranz (Portola Valley, CA) and junior Luke Tedaldi (West Newton, MA) earned an 8-5 win at #3.

In singles action, senior Adil Shamasdin (Pickering, ONT) led off at #1, winning 6-3, 6-2. Thomas was next with a 6-3, 6-1 win at #2. Moss earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at #3, while Tedaldi earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at #4. At #5 singles, freshman Michael Scherer (Potomac, MD) posted a 6-2, 6-4 win. In the final match of the day, junior Philip Charm (Concord, MA) earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at #6.
