Brown Men's Tennis Defeats Dartmouth, 5-2April 21, 2001
Providence, RI - Freshmen Jaime Cerretani (Reading, MA) and Ben Brier (Dartmouth, MA) battled back to earn victories after trailing by a set at numbers three and five respectively, to lead the Brown men's tennis team to a 5-2 victory over Dartmouth. The Bears are 11-9 overall and 3-3 in the Ivy League.
Cerretani earned a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 win for the Bears, while Brier battled for a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory. The Bears captured two other singles matches with sophomore Chris Drake (Needham, MA) winning 7-5, 7-6 in a tiebreaker, and sophomore JR Argo (Ocala, FL) winning 7-6 in a tiebreaker and 7-5.
Brown opened by winning all three doubles matches. Junior Nick Malone (Greystrokes, Ireland) and Cerretani captured an 8-5 decision at number one; Drake and senior Chris Wolfe (Barrington, RI) were 8-5 winners at number two; and the team of Argo and Brier were 8-2 winners at number three.
