Men’s Tennis Falls to Princeton, 4-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's tennis team was defeated by Princeton, 4-2, on Sunday at the Varsity Tennis Courts. Seniors Lucas Da Silveira (Incline Village, Nev.) and Gregory Garcia (Poway, Calif.) highlighted the finishes of the day, recording a 6-2 win over No. 31 Alexander Day and Luke Gamble in doubles in their last home collegiate match. The Tigers would then win four singles matches to take the victory.

In doubles, junior Jack Haworth (Corby, England) and freshman Jacob Walker (Bethesda, Md.) opened competition by winning second doubles, 6-1. Da Silveira and Garcia next posted a 6-2 victory against the 31st-ranked team to give the Bears the doubles point.

Princeton started singles with a win in the first spot. Walker next gave Brown a 2-1 advantage in the match with a 6-3, 6-4 showing in fifth singles. The Tigers would close out the match by winning three straight, in fourth, second and sixth singles.

The Bears will close out the season on the road with matches at No. 20 Columbia on Saturday, April 22 and at No. 25 Cornell on Sunday, April 23. Both matches will start at 1:00 p.m.
