Men’s Tennis Records 4-0 Win Over St. John’s

FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – The Brown men's tennis team defeated St. John's, 4-0, at the National Tennis Center on Sunday. Brown opened the match by winning the doubles point and then went on to clinch the first three singles matches for the victory.

Juniors Peter Tarwid (Lake Forest, Ill.) and Anthony Arocho (Norridge, Ill.) posted a 6-3 victory in first singles while junior Jack Haworth (Corby, England) and freshman Jacob Walker (Bethesda, Md.) recorded a 6-2 win in third doubles to win the point for Brown.

For singles victories for the Bears, junior Aaron Sandberg (Hudson, Ohio) won in the second spot, 6-3, 6-2, and Haworth followed in third singes with a 6-2, 6-3 showing. Walker rounded out the Brown singles wins for the day in sixth singles (6-1, 7-5).

The Bears will next travel to Virginia to compete against VCU on Saturday, March 18 and No. 30 Old Dominion on Sunday, March 19. Saturday's match will begin at 1:00 p.m. while Sunday's  match will start at 9:00 a.m.
