Men’s Tennis Falls against No. 54 Cornell, 4-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's tennis team was defeated by No. 54 Cornell, 4-1, on Saturday. Sophomore Peter Tarwid (Lake Forest, Ill.) posted a win in second singles for the Bears.

Cornell captured the doubles point with wins in first and third. Sophomore Jack Haworth (Corby, England) and freshman Charles Tan (Austin, Texas) won second doubles, 6-3.

For singles play, Tarwid won the lone match for Brown, with 6-1, 7-5 second singles win. Freshman Mladen Mitak (Zagreb, Croatia) put forth a good battle in fourth singles, but fell 6-4, 6-7, 6-4.

The Bears are back on the courts tomorrow (April 10) against No. 26 Columbia at 1:00 p.m.
