Men’s Tennis Hosts Brown Invitational
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Daniel Hirschberg (Westport, Conn.), sophomore Ivan Kravtchenko (Sunnyvale, Calif.) and freshman Gregory Garcia (Poway, Calif.) all earned three victories apiece as the Brown University men’s tennis team hosted the Brown Invitational, in memory of Margaux Powers, over the weekend.

PHILADELPHIA – Freshman Eli Whittle (Nipomo, Calif.) picked up three victories and five other Bears won two singles matches apiece as the Brown University men’s tennis team competed at the Penn Invitational over the weekend.

Men’s Tennis Impressive at Brown Invitational
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – In the first action of the season, the Brown men’s tennis team won three singles flights and one doubles flight as the Bears hosted the Brown Invitational over the weekend. In addition to the winners, one other player lost in the finals of a singles flight and two other tandems were finalists in their respective flights.

Adil Shamasdin ’05 Advances to Doubles Quarterfinals at Hall of Fame Tennis Championships
Former Brown men’s tennis standout Adil Shamasdin ’05 has advanced to the doubles quarterfinals of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships. Shamasdin and his partner, John-Patrick Smith, an Australian who played at Tennessee, upset third-seeded James Blake (Harvard) and Rajeev Ram, 6-4, 6-7 (3), 10-6, in the first round. Shamasdin and Smith will now face Ivo Karlovic and Divij Sharan in Thursday’s quarterfinal round.
