Bears Close Season with 4-3 Loss at #57 Yale

NEW HAVEN, CT – The Brown men's tennis team (14-10, 3-4) was edged by #57 Yale, 4-3, in its 2013 season finale in New Haven. The Bears won the doubles point to take the early lead, but the Bulldogs earned wins in four of the six singles matches to come back for the victory. Freshman Lucas Da Silveira (Incline Village, NV) and junior Sam Fife (Scarsdale, NY) led the way for Brown, winning in both singles and doubles.

In doubles action, Da Silveira combined with sophomore Justin To (Hong Kong, China) for an 8-5 win at #3, while Fife paired with junior Brandon Burke (Kingston, Jamaica) to post an 8-5 win at #2.

Da Silveira won his singles match at #5 in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, while Fife earned a three-set win at #3 singles, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
