Bears Improve to 6-0 with Three Victories

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Brown men's tennis team (6-0) remained undefeated on the season with three wins over the weekend. The Bears defeated Binghamton and Quinnipiac, 7-0, and earned a 6-1 win over Bryant. Five Bears were 4-0 over the weekend, while four other players went 3-0, as 12 members of the team played and 11 earned at least one win. 

Those who earned four wins were sophomore Soufiane Azargui (Burlington, ONT), junior Tom Deighton (London, England), sophomore Sam Fife (Scarsdale, NY), junior Mike Hill (Topsham, ME), and freshman Michael Riechmann (Houston, TX). Those who earned three wins were sophomore Brandon Burke (Kingston, Jamaica), freshman Daniel Hirschberg (Westport, CT), freshman William Spector (Weston, MA), and freshman Jacob Laser (Glencoe, IL).

Other winners included sophomores David Neff (New York, NY) and Nick Newhouse (Weston, CT), who were 2-0 and 1-0, respectively.

After opening the season with six straight matches at home, the Bears continue action this weekend when they travel to Tennessee to face Vanderbilt (2/10) and Middle Tennessee (2/11) in a pair of matches, both of which will be played at 3:00.
