Yazmer entered his second year at Brown with a number of impressive performances in the fall. Despite an injury early in the fall season, he came back strong to show that he will be a strong player for the Bears in the spring. This included a strong doubles showing at the ITA Regional Tournament where he and teammate Mike Hill ’13 advanced to the second round and were just two points from taking down the #4 seeds from Columbia.
Andrew started his freshmen year with some promise going 3-1 in the Northeast Intercollegiate Invite, but a foot injury plagued him for most of the rest of the year and kept him off the court for the entire spring.
Yazmer came to the Bears from Simsbury, Connecticut. He had a great junior career in the New England USTA section and ranked in the top two throughout juniors. Yazmer played all the Super National Championships and was ranked in the top 100 nationally every year as a junior player. He has also played the flute since the age of 6.
Andrew's academic interests center on business. He was formerly a member of the National Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America.
Yazmer has an older sister, Jessica, and his parents are Ronald and Ellen Yazmer. They reside in Simsbury, Connecticut.
