PRINCETON, NJ - The Brown men's swimming and diving team (1-3, 1-2) dropped a 151-81 decision to Princeton. The dual meet was part of the Princeton Invitational, which went from December 3-5. In the Invitational results, the Bears came in third out of 11 teams, behind Princeton and Rutgers.
In the Princeton dual meet results, the Bears won four of the 12 events. Junior Eric Brumberg (Sewell, NJ) won two of the events, taking the 200 IM (1:51.59) and the 200 Fly (1:51.86), while senior Matt Del Mastro (Whitby, ONT) won the 200 Breast (2:07.61). The Bears also took first in the 400 Free Relay with the team of Brumberg, junior Brian Sharkey (Fords, NJ), sophomore Michael O'Mara (Reno, NV), and senior Matt Zimmerman (Greensboro, NC) finishing in 3:06.83.

200 Fly - junior Matt Goracy (Pottersville, NJ), 2nd - 1:55.69

500 Free - freshman Peter Volosin (Roanoke, VA), 3rd - 4:37.43
3-Meter Diving - sophomore Matthew Freitas (Chelmsford, MA), 3rd - 204.65
In the Invitational results, Brumberg won both the 200 (1:51.59) and the 400 IM (3:57.37). He took third in the 200 fly (1:51.86) and seventh in the 200 back (1:53.04). Sharkey took seventh in the 50 free (21.50) and eighth in the 100 free (47.18). Volosin took fourth in the 500 free (4:37.43) and third in the 1650 free (16:03.70). Zimmerman finished in third in the 100 fly (50.57), while Del Mastro took third in the 100 breast (58.00) and second in the 200 breast (2:07.61).
Brown continues action on January 12 when it takes on North Carolina and Bucknell in a 3:00 p.m. meet at UNC.
