Men's Swimming & Diving Falls to UNC, Defeats Bucknell

Chapel Hill, NC - The Brown University men's swimming and diving team (2-4) came away with a split in a double dual meet with UNC (L, 158-124) and Bucknell (W, 188-106) on Wednesday afternoon, the Bears first action since early December.
Top finishers for the Bears include freshman Peter Volosin (Roanoke, VA), who took second in the 100 free with a time of 9:31.13, and senior Matthew DelMastro (Whitby, ONT), who claimed second in the 100 breast with a time of 58.98. Junior Eric Brumberg (Sewall, NJ) earned a third place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 1:52.70, while junior Brian Sharkey (Fords, NJ) took third in the 50 free with a time of 21.61.
In the 3-Meter dive, sophomore Matthew Freitas (Chelmsford, MA) took third with a score of 227.90.
Senior Timothy Wang (South Pasadena, CA) earned a third place finish in the 100 free with a time of 47.40, while DelMastro won the 200 breast with a time of 2:10.01. The Bears took a 1-2 sweep in the 500 free, led by Volosin's first place finish (4:41.62). Freshman Rob Glenn (Haddonfield, NJ) earned a second place finish with a time of 4:50.59. Brown also swept 1-2 in the 100 fly, with Brumberg clocking in at 50.97, good for first place. Senior Matt Zimmerman (Greensboro, NC) finished in second place with a time of 53.19.
Brumberg and sophomore Michael O'Mara (Reno, NV) led a 1-2 sweep in the 200 IM, finishing with times of 1:52.51 and 1:55.97, respectively.
