Brown Swimming and Diving Teams Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Awards
Each year, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) ranks the academic performance of the nation’s collegiate swimming and diving teams, presenting Scholar All-America awards to the sport’s top performers. Brown swimmers continued to excel in the classroom as well is in the pool during the 2012-2013 season, and both the men’s team and the women’s team earned a selection as a CSCAA NCAA Division I Scholar All-America Team.

Brown Men's Swimming and Diving Celebrates Season at 2013 Banquet
The Brown men’s swimming and diving team held its annual awards banquet on Thursday, April 18th at the Faculty Club, and six student-athletes were honored with team awards. The coaches also used the evening to acknowledge the team’s success this season, its first in the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center, and recognize the dedication and contributions of the Brown men’s swimming and diving class of 2013: John Hug (Weatogue, CT), Michael Johnson (Cave Creek, AZ), captain Mike McVicker (Larchmont, NY) and captain Ian Slater (Lutherville, MD).

Glenn Wins Second Title as Brown Finishes Seventh at Ivy League Championships
The Brown men’s swimming and diving team concluded competition in the Men’s Swimming and Diving Ivy League Championships held at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center this evening, earning a seventh place team finish with 589.5 points. In the seven events contested in the meet’s final day, the Bears produced one school record, three top-eight finishes and 16 season-best times.

Glenn Dazzles as Brown Moves into Seventh on Second Day of Ivy League Championships
The Brown men’s swimming and diving team had another solid day of swims at the Men’s Swimming and Diving Ivy League Championships held at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. With one day left to go, the Bears sit in seventh place with 404.5 points. In the eight events contested, the squad accumulated one NCAA ‘A’ cut, three school records, four top eight finishes and eighteen best times.

Men's Ivy League Swimming and Diving Championships Begin at Brown on Thursday
The Brown men’s swimming and diving team welcomes the seven other Ivy League schools to the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center tomorrow, as competition begins in the 2013 Ivy League Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships. This marks the first time that the event will be held in the new, state-of-the-art facility on the campus of Brown University.

Two Brown School Records Fall on First Day of Ivy League Championships
At the conclusion of day one of the 2013 Men’s Swimming and Diving Ivy League Championships, held at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center, the Brown men’s swimming and diving team sits in eighth place with 117 points. Over the course of six events, the squad accumulated two school record, three top eight finishes and 15 best times, leaving the Bears’ primed for two more stellar days of swimming.

Brown Overcome by Yale, 213-86, in Final Dual Meet of the Season
The Brown men’s swimming and diving team (6-5, 2-5 Ivy League) dropped a 213-86 decision to the Yale Bulldogs (8-2, 5-2 Ivy League) on Saturday afternoon at the Kiphuth Exhibition Pool. The competition, originally scheduled for Saturday, February 9, was the Bears final dual meet of the 2012-2013 season.

Brown Beats Cornell On Senior Day, 178.50-121.50
The Brown men’s swimming and diving team (6-4, 2-4 Ivy League) earned a commanding, 178.50-121.50 victory over the Big Red of Cornell (1-7, 0-7 Ivy League) this afternoon in an Ivy League meet held at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. Prior to the start of the team’s last home competition of the season, the Bears took the time to honor the contributions and accomplishments of John Hug (Weatogue, CT), Michael Johnson (Cave Creek, AZ), Mike McVicker (Larchmont, NY) and Ian Slater (Lutherville, MD), the four members of the class of 2013.

Brown Edged by Columbia, 160-133
The Brown men’s swimming and diving team (5-4, 1-4 Ivy League) turned in some impressive performances over the course of the afternoon but ultimately fell, 160-133, to the Columbia Lions (5-2, 3-2 Ivy League) at Uris Pool. Three different swimmers won individual events for the Bears, and the squad grabbed a handful of second and third place finishes along the way, swimming tough against a strong team from Columbia.

The Brown men’s swimming team (5-3, 1-3 Ivy League) earned a 119-62 victory over the Bryant Bulldogs in a non-league competition held at the Elizabeth and Malcom Chace Wellness Center on Thursday, January 24.

Brown Grabs Big Ivy League Win Over Penn, 171-129
The Brown men's swimming and diving team (4-3, 1-3 Ivy League) earned a 171-129 triumph over Ivy League foe Penn on Saturday in a dual meet held at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. The win, the Bears’ first over the Quakers since January 5, 2008, gives them their first league victory of the season and lifts their overall record to 4-3. Brown grabbed the top spot in seven of the 14 individual events contested, while also racing to victory in both relay events, but it was the squad’s depth that secured the win for Bruno.

Brown Falls to Harvard, 206-90, in Ivy League Dual Meet
The Brown men’s swimming and diving team (3-3, 0-3 Ivy League) fell to the Harvard Crimson (4-0, 4-0 Ivy League), a perennial Ivy League powerhouse, 206-90, on Thursday afternoon at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. Tommy Glenn (Haddonfield, NJ) was the Bears’ lone event winner, taking top honors in the 200 freestyle.

Zhao and Slater Capture Two Events Each As Brown Defeats Providence, 111-84
On Saturday, January 5, the Brown men’s swimming and diving team (3-2, 0-2 Ivy League) claimed their first win of the new year, a 111-84 victory over the Providence College Friars. The swimming events were held at Providence’s Taylor Natatorium, a short course meter facility. In total, the Bears won all eleven of the events contested, with freshman Edward Zhao (Vancouver, British Columbia) and senior co-captain Ian Slater (Lutherville, MD) ending the day as double-event winners.

Brown Men Earn the 16th Spot in the Latest Mid-Major Rankings
In the second of four Mid-Major rankings released annually by the website collegeswimming.com, the Brown men’s swimming and diving team (2-2, 0-2 Ivy League) was ranked 16th out of the 46 schools that submitted entries.

Brown Men Claim Fourth After a Successful Weekend of Competition
At the end of the third and final day of the 2012 Brown Invitational, the Brown men’s swimming and diving team claimed the fourth spot out of the six teams in attendance, just edging out Ivy League rival Columbia. Concluding the weekend with competition in five individual events and a relay, the Bears claimed another first place finish as well as numerous season best times.

Glenn's Two First-Place Finishes Propel Brown into Fourth After Day Two
With one day of competition left to go in the 2012 Brown Invitational, the Brown men’s swimming and diving team sits in fourth place out of the eight teams in attendance. The second day of swimming and diving featured six individual events and two relays, showcasing the Bears’ versatility and depth. At the conclusion of the evening session, Brown had tallied eight top-eight finishes, including victories in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly.

Mayfield Takes Second in the 500 Free as the Bears Sit in Fifth After Day One of the Brown Invitational
At the end of the first day of competition in the 2012 Brown Invitational, the first to be held in the newly constructed Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center, the Brown men’s swimming and diving team sits in fifth place out of the six teams in attendance, just 13 points shy of Ivy League rival, Columbia. In a day that featured just four individual events and two relays, the Bears accumulated 16 season-best times, as well as three top-eight finishes.

Brown Welcomes Seven Teams to the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatic Center for the Brown Invitational
The Brown swimming and diving teams will host seven intercollegiate squads this weekend in the first annual Brown Invitational. The Bears welcome Ivy League foes Dartmouth, Princeton, Columbia and Yale, as well as teams from Army, Rider and the University of New Hampshire. Competition will take place from Friday, November 30 to Sunday, December 2 at the newly constructed Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. Trials sessions begin at 11am on the first two days of competition, with finals beginning at 6pm. Sunday’s sessions will be moved up an hour with swimming and diving commencing at 10am and then again at 5pm.

Bears Complete Weekend Sweep with a Victory Over UMASS, 172-126
In the first official competition to be held in the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center at Brown University, the men’s swimming and diving team (2-0) completed the weekend sweep, crushing the UMASS Minutemen (1-3), 172 to 126. The Bears captured eleven first place finishes in the afternoon competition, and the win marks the first time that Brown has opened the season with two consecutive victories since the 2005-2006 campaign.

Glenn Earns Four Wins in Brown's Season-Opening Victory Over Boston University, 162-138
The Brown University men’s swimming and diving team opened up the 2012-2013 season with a non-league meet against Boston University on Friday afternoon. The Bears triumphed over a strong Terrier squad, claiming their first win of the season, 162-138, while also clocking impressive early season times. They were led by junior Tommy Glenn (Haddonfield, NJ), the 2012 NCAA Breakout Swimmer of the Year, and freshman Cory Mayfield (Palos Verdes Estates, CA), as Glenn finished first in all four of his events while Mayfield dominated the distance swims.
