Brown Dominates in First Meet of the Season
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – In the first meet of the year at Providence College, the Brown swimming & diving teams dominated local rivals PC and Bryant. The Bears boasted numerous wins as well as several one-two finishes.
On the women's side against Bryant, the Bears took the top two spots in the first seven events and ended up taking first and second in 13 of the 14 races. Versus Providence, the Bears improved on their early performances, taking first and second in every race.
The men followed suit on Saturday, taking wins in 11 of 12 events. In the 200 medley relay, Brown took the top three spots in the race. The Bears also took the top two medals in the one-meter dive, 800 free, 200 individual medley, 200 fly, 200 back and 400 free.
Junior Jonathan Feldman got his NCAA Zone Qualifying score on 1-meter - 300.375. The zone meet is the qualifying meet for the NCAA Diving Championship.
Brown will be back in action next weekend on Nov. 20 when they host Dartmouth. The diving portion of the meet will be held at UMass-Dartmouth at 11 a.m. while the races will take place at Providence College at Noon.
