Providence, R.I. - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently announced that both the Brown men's and women's swimming and diving squads had earned recognition as Scholar All-American Teams for the 2009 fall semester. To attain this award, a team must have a minimum 3.0 GPA for the semester.
The men's swim team proved that their talent does not lie solely in the pool, as they finished 12th in the country with an overall 3.22 GPA for the semester. The women were even more impressive, compiling a 3.34 combined GPA to rank 37th in the nation.
The Bears will travel to Harvard this weekend, as the women will compete at the Ivy League Championships beginning Thursday afternoon. The men will follow next weekend, competing in the men's championships at Princeton from March 4-6.
