Providence, RI - The men's squash team competed admirably against Yale, the Ivy league champions elect, on Saturday at the Pizzitola Sports Center, despite losing by a 9-0 margin. There were some great match-ups on the courts, led by the effort of junior Patrick Haynes at #6 who won two close games and held an 8-5 lead in the fourth, but was unable to convert a few match-balls. Indeed he fought all the way to a 10-8 fifth game with a very athletic and determined contest.
At #3 Sophomore Edward Cerullo raced to a 2-0 game lead but was pegged back to eventually lose 3-2 despite a magnificent effort. At #4, Tri Captain and Senior David Krupnick pushed his opponent to a closely fought four game match.
The three seniors and Captains, David Krupnick, Breck Bailey and Brian Rifkin were recognized at the beginning of the match by the players and coaches, as they were about to play their last home match at Brown.
Next up for the Bears is an away match v. Trinity on Tuesday 14th February at 6:00 pm.
