#15 Bears Come Back to Topple #17 Tufts, 5-4

Feb. 7, 2008

Belmont Hill, MA - The Brown men's squash team visited Tufts on Tuesday and recorded a very close 5-4 win against a motivated and determined Tufts squad. The team's young players came through in the close match, as the five wins came from three sophomores and two freshmen.

The team fell behind early with the three-court system, despite a 3-2 win by sophomore Alex Heitzmann (Rehoboth, MA) at #9, and found itself having to win four of the remaining five matches to gain five matches and the win. Two matches went to five and both sophomore Adam Greenberg (Meadowbrook, PA) and freshman Evan Besser (Staten Island, NY) pulled out magnificent fifth games. This left the Bears with two matches remaining and having to win both to come away with a win. Again it was a sophomore, Patrick Davis (Wyndmoor, PA) at #7, and a freshman, Adrian Leanza (Denver, CO) at #4, who played strongly to each win 3-0 and present the team with victory.

Next up for the Bears is Yale at the Pizzitola Center at noon this Saturday.
