Providence, RI - The Brown men's squash team wrapped up its season with the Squash Team Banquet at the Faculty Club in Providence with an awards ceremony, the naming of team captains for the 2014-2015 season and the announcement of the Brown Class of 2017.
There were several awards presented at the banquet, including the "Best Record at the Team Nationals," which went to freshman Alexander Baldock '18 who went 3-0 at #5.
The Most Improved Player award went to junior Nick Talbott while the Quint Stevenson Memorial award was awarded to tri-captain Blake Reinson '14. This is the third time that Blake has won this award! The team also recognized that Blake Reinson was also an All-Ivy player in 2013-2014, Brown's first recipient of this award since John Reimers in 1999.
Two Brown squash student-athletes, tri-captain Chip Lebovitz '14 and Patrick O'Neill '14 were recognized for earning CSA Scholar-Athlete Awards which are awarded to Juniors and Seniors who have played in 50% or more of the matches and have a 3.5 GPA or better.
The team selected co- captains for the 2014-2015 season - Jack Blasberg '16 and Nick Talbott '15.
Head coach Stuart leGassick and the Brown team thanked seniors Blake Reinson, Chip Lebovitz, Patrick O'Neill and tri-captain Tod Holberton for their leadership and efforts on and off the squash courts over their four years at Brown.
Coach leGassick's squad looks forward to the arrival of the freshmen in the fall: Justin Lee, Hopkins School in New Haven, CT; Thomas Walker, the Haverford School PA; Thomas Blecher, Trinity College School Canada; and Charlie Blasberg, Milton Academy MA.
