Providence, RI - The Brown men's squash team wrapped up its season with the Squash Team Banquet at the Faculty Club in Providence with an awards ceremony, the naming of team captains for the 2013-2014 season and the announcement of the Brown Class of 2017.
There were several awards presented, including the Best Record at the Team Nationals which went to Junior Blake Reinson, who went 2-1 at this year's team championships at #1, winning his matches against Penn's Danny Greenberg and Navy's Andrew McGuiness.
The Most Improved Player award went to freshman Ross Freiman-Mendel, while the Quint Stevenson Memorial award was awarded to both Blake Reinson '14 and Co-Captain Alexander Hsu '13.
Two Brown squash student-athletes, Chip Lebovitz '14 and Alexander Hsu '13, were recognized for earning CSA Scholar-Athlete Awards which are awarded to those athletes that have played in 50% or more of the matches and have a 3.5 GPA or better.
The team nominated tri- captains for the 2013-2014 season - Chip Lebovitz, '14, Blake Reinson '14 and Tod Holberton '14.
Head coach Stuart leGassick and the Brown team thanked seniors Eamon O'Connor and Co-Captains Chris Holter and Alex Hsu for their leadership and efforts on and off the squash courts over their four years at Brown.
Coach leGassick's squad looks forward to the arrival of the freshmen in the fall: Alex Baldock from the Brunswick School, Hoony Lee from Philips Exeter Academy, Arhum Suddiqui from the Harker School.
