Providence, RI - The Brown men's squash team wrapped up its season with the Squash Team Banquet at the Waterman Grille in Providence. There were several awards received, including the Best Record at the Team Nationals which went Blake Reinson, who went 2-1 for the weekend with excellent wins at #3 against Williams and Western Ontario. The Most Improved Player award went to Alex Hsu '12.
The Quint Stevenson Memorial award was received for the third year in a row by Co- Captain Adrian Leanza '11, a Winter Academic All Ivy recipient. He was a finalist for the College Skillman Award - an award given to a senior in College squash for Sportsmanship.
The team and coaches recognized Brad Thompson '11 and Ben Clayman '11 for their CSA Scholar Athlete Awards which are awarded to those athletes who have played in 75% or more of the matches and have a 3.5 GPA or better.
Head coach Stuart leGassick also announced that Brad Thompson '12 and Blake Reinson '14 will captain the squash team in the 2011-2012 season.
The Brown team thanked the seniors Ben Clayman, Evan Besser and Adrian Leanza for their leadership and efforts on and off the squash courts over their four years.
Coach leGassick's squad looks forward to the arrival of the freshmen in the fall: Avi Bhahvnani (Pingry NJ), Andrew Powers , Shane Fischbach (Pittsburgh PA), Andrew Li (St. Paul's NJ) and Neel Swami (Atlanta GA).
