Two Bears Named to NSCAA All-Northeast Region Team
Dec. 5, 2006
Providence, RI - Two Brown men's soccer players have been named to the NSCAA All-Northeast Region Team. Sophomore Rhett Bernstein (San Diego, CA) garnered a spot on the First Team, as senior Andrew Daniels (Milwaukee, WI) earned a spot on the Second Team.
Bernstein, who was a unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection, was Brown's second leading scorer this season with eight goals. A talented defender on the Bears squad, Bernstein recorded two game-winning goals this season and helped lead the team to its 22nd NCAA Tournament appearance.
Also named to the Ivy League's First Team, Daniels finished the 2006 season as Brown's leading scorer with eight goals and four assists. He tallied two game-winning goals this season, and undoubtedly had one of his best performance in the first-round of the NCAA tournament against Adelphi at Stevenson Field on Nov. 11. In Brown's 4-1 victory that afternoon, Daniels recorded his first career hat trick to place Brown against Duke in the second round.
Daniels has also been chosen to participate in the 2007 adidas MLS Combine in January at the Seminole County (Florida) Sports Training Center. Daniels was also named to the 2006-07 Academic All-Ivy team, along with senior teammate Ben Brackett (West Des Moines, IA).
