The Brown men's soccer team will host St. Peter's in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Stevenson Field. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. Brown received an automatic bid into the tournament after capturing the 2003 Ivy League Title.
Brown has now won seven of the last ten Ivy championships and will be making its 20th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bears best finish came in 1975 when the Brown booters advanced to the Final Four, placing third overall. In Brown's last trip to the tourney in 2000, Head Coach Mike Noonan's team played its way to the Elite Eight.
The Bears finished the regular season with a 10-3-3 overall and undefeated 6-0-1 mark in the Ivy League. Brown has not lost a game since Sept. 30, shutting out six of its last nine opponents. The team allowed just two goals in Ivy play, both coming on penalty kicks.
Saturday's match-up will mark the first-ever meeting of the two teams. The winner of the game will advance to the second-round of the tournament to take on Michigan in Ann Arbor. Brown battled the Wolverines to a 3-3 tie in the Bears season opener at the adidas-Brown Classic at Stevenson Field last season.
