Nov. 12, 2007
Providence, RI - Junior forward Dylan Sheehan (Wolfville, NS) was named the Ivy League's Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal against visiting Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon.
Sheehan's golden goal came from teammate Darren Howerton's (Northboro, MA) flip throw in the 82nd minute of play to lift the Bears to a 1-0 victory over the visiting Big Green. The win clinched the Ivy League title for the Brown men's soccer team (14-1-1, 6-0-0) and gave them an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
The goal was Sheehan's 10th of the year, and he is Brown's leading scorer with 26 points. Up next, the Bears will travel to Columbia to take on the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
