Davies Named Ivy Rookie of the Week For Second Straight Week
Nov. 8, 2004
For the second straight week Brown freshman Kevin Davies was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. Davies scored the game-winning goal in a crucial1-0 win over Yale on Friday, keeping the Bears in hunt for the Ivy League Title. In a must win situation, Davies booted in his third goal of the season at the 57:31 mark to break a 0-0 deadlock. Davies leads all freshmen in scoring with three goals and one assists for seven points this season, fourth overall on the team.
Last week Davies scored a goal in Brown's 4-0 win over Penn, earning him his first Rookie of the Week distinction. Brown will be playing for a share of the Ivy Title next Sunday at Dartmouth. A win by the Bears coupled with a Princeton loss or tie against Yale would give Brown the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. It would be the Bears 21st appearance in the tournament, including their second straight. Brown has won seven of the last ten Ivy Championships.
