Elenz-Martin Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

Sept. 18, 2006

Providence, RI - After scoring Brown's University's game winning goal against previously undefeated No. 19 Boston University, the freshman midfielder Nick Elenz-Martin (Encinitas, CA) was named Ivy League Player of the Week (9/18/06).

The goal, scored with just 26 seconds remaining on the clock, began with a pass up the field from freshman Chris Roland (Rochester, NY) to senior Andrew Daniels (Milwaukee, WI), who crossed to junior Kevin Davies (Port Washington, NY). Davies then looked for a shot before finding Daniels cutting back towards the goal. Daniels found Elenz-Martin, standing alone 10 yards out, and he recorded the game winner on a low ball to the left side.

The goal was Elenz-Martin's second of the season and has increased the Bears record to 4-1-0. Brown will be back in action at 7 p.m. on Tuesday as it hosts Hartwick (3-4-1) at Stevenson Field.
