Philadelphia, PA- - Brown senior forward/midfielder Keith Caldwell (Braintree, MA) was drafted by the Colorado Rapids with the 33rd overall pick in the third round of the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft. Caldwell was a two-time All-Ivy Honorable Mention for the Bears and was apart of two Ivy League Championships at Brown.
This marks the third straight year a player from Brown has been drafted. A total of eight players under Head Coach Mike Noonan's tutelage have been MLS draftees, including two in the 2005 Draft. All three member of the Class of 2005 went on to sign contracts to play in the MLS.
Caldwell played in all 18 games, making 14 starts this past season. His four assists ranked fourth on the team and were tied for eighth in the Ivy League. All four of his assists came in Ivy play, including one in the Ivy Championship match against Dartmouth. As a junior in 2004, he tied for the team lead in scoring with five goals.
Brown made its 21st appearance in the NCAA Tournament after capturing a share of its 18th Ivy League Title this past fall. The Bears advanced to the second round, narrowly losing to eventual NCAA Champion Maryland, 1-0.
