Brown Defeats Dartmouth 1-0 for Fourth Ivy League Win

Nov. 11, 2001

PROVIDENCE, RI - Junior Evan Ryan (Guilford, CT) scored his second goal of the season just over three and a half minutes into the second half to give Brown (6-7-2, 4-1-1 Ivy) a key 1-0 Ivy League victory over Dartmouth (5-7-2, 1-4-1 Ivy) at Stevenson Field on Sunday afternoon.

Ryan's goal came on a play that started on a shot from sophomore Seth Quidachay-Swan (San Francisco, CA). Quidachay-Swan's shot was deflected by Dartmouth goalkeeper Ben Gebre-Medhin (Cambridge, MA) before bouncing to sophomore Matt Goldman (Knoxville, TN), who redirected the deflection to Ryan. Both Quidachay-Swan and Goldman picked up assists on the goal.

In net for the Bears was freshman David Mahoney (Wellesley, MA) who made three saves to earn his first career collegiate shutout for Brown.

The Bears will conclude their regular season next Saturday, November 17, when they will play at Harvard in a 1:00 p.m. game.
