Philadelphia, PA - The Bears (10-3-3, 3-1-2) fought hard through 110 minutes of play but couldn't come up with a win on Saturday night as they tied Ivy League opponent the University of Pennsylvania Quakers (8-4-2, 4-1-1) 0-0 in a double overtime battle.
Led by sophomore goalkeeper Jarrett Leech (Manakin, Sabot, VA), a stalwart effort on the defensive end kept the Quakers off the score board. Leech made several key saves during the game, including a stellar save in the second overtime to keep the score even. Leech had three saves for the night as Penn's Daniel Cepero posted three as well.
The wind certainly seemed to play a factor in both teams offensive attacks. Each team was only able to muster 11 total shots for the night.
In the League standings, Penn remains ahead of Brown with 13 points to the Bears' 11. Harvard is currently in second with 12 points and Dartmouth in fourth with 10, but the teams face off tomorrow afternoon in Hanover, N.H.
Brown is back in action at 8 p.m. on Friday night as they take on Yale at Stevenson Field which will be televised on the Fox Soccer Channel.
