ITHACA, N.Y. - The men's soccer team tied the Cornell Big Red 1-1 on Saturday night in their fifth overtime game of the season.

The Bears jumped out in front at the 21:54 mark on a play that started when sophomore Adom Crew (Columbia, MD) fired a shot that was saved by Cornell goalkeeper Doug Allan (Irvine, CA). Junior Omar Macedo (South Gate, CA) picked up the rebound and netted his first career collegiate goal to give Brown a 1-0 edge. Crew was credited with his fourth assist of the year on the play.

Cornell came back to tie the score 1-1 with just six and a half minutes remaining in the game when Nick Haigh (Cambridge, MA) knocked in a loose ball on a corner kick that got past Brown goalkeeper Chris Gomez (Bellflower, CA). Gomez finished the game with four saves for the Bears.

After the completion of regulation, two overtime periods were played but a winner could not be decided. In the first overtime period, Brown nearly won the game when a shot by Dustin Branan (Lakeville, MN) was saved by a Cornell defender.

The tie brings Brown's overall record to 3-6-2 on the year and 1-1-1 in the Ivy League. The Bears will be back in action on Sunday, October 28 when they will host the Pennsylvania Quakers in an Ivy League game at Stevenson Field at 1:00 p.m.
