Men's Soccer Earns Fourth Tie of Season Against Princeton, 1-1

Princeton, NJ - The Brown men's soccer team earned a 1-1 tie with Princeton Friday night. The tie is Brown's fourth of the season, which ties a team record. Senior Evan Ryan (Gilford, CT) scored the lone goal for the Bears while sophomore goalkeeper Chris Gomez (Bellflower, MA) recorded a season-high ten saves. Brown is now 4-3-4 overall and 0-1-2 in the Ivy League.

The first half of play went scoreless with Gomez making two huge saves in the last two minutes of the half. The Tigers took a 1-0 lead at 54:42 on a breakaway goal scored by Ryan Rich.

Brown answered with a goal of its own at the 65:53 mark to knot the game 1-1. Sophomore Jeff Larentowicz (West Chester, PA) fed the ball to senior Dustin Branan (Lakeville, MN) in the back post on a free kick from 35 yards out. Branan headed the ball to Ryan, who in turn headed the ball in for his first goal of the season. Ryan has four points on the year with one goal and two assists. Branan has three points with a goal and an assist.

Brown continues action on Tuesday Oct. 22 for a 7:00 p.m. game at home against Fairfield.
