PROVIDENCE, RI -- In its fourth consecutive overtime game, the Brown men's soccer team tied the Providence College Friars 1-1 on Tuesday afternoon in Providence.

The score was 1-1 at the end of regulation and two fifteen minute overtime periods still could not break the deadlock.

Providence (0-7-2) got on the board first when Thomas Blesso scored with 10:49 remaining in the first half to give the Friars a 1-0 lead. The Friars took that 1-0 lead into halftime.

But Brown (3-5-1) answered with 13:32 remaining in the game when senior captain Adam Buchanan (Chandler, AZ) launched the equalizer into the back of the net from just outside the penalty box to knot the score at 1-1. Assisting on Buchanan's goal, his second of the season, were senior Brandon Lacey (Stone Mountain, GA) and junior Edu (North Brunswick, NJ).

In the second overtime period, the Bears' offense had three breakaways but each attempt was turned away by Providence goalkeeper Michael Greulich. Sophomore Seth Quidachay-Swan (San Francisco, CA) nearly scored with 10 seconds remaining in the second overtime period but his bid to score also went awry. The Bears out shot the Friars 11-5 on the afternoon.

Freshman Chris Gomez (Bellflower, CA) made three saves in net for the Bears.

Brown returns to action on Saturday, October 13 when they will face the Princeton Tigers in an Ivy League matchup at Stevenson Field at 7:30 p.m.
