Maine lit up the scoreboard first after forward Dimitri Anastasiou picked up the punt from goalkeeper Nemanja Kostic and fired it past Brown's goalkeeper Paul Grandstrand (Orono, MN) from beyond the box. Grandstrand dove but couldn't get to it, and the Black Bears jumped to a 1-0 lead with the time at 21:08.
Brown, who dominated Maine 21-11 in shots on goal, finally cracked the Black Bears' defense with four seconds remaining in the half. Sheehan, the Ivy League's Player of the Week, knocked one in from the right side of the box to tie the game at 1-1. At the 63:01 mark, Okafor then tallied his first career-goal after heading in junior Darren Howerton's (Northboro, MA) flip-throw.
Grandstrand (2-0) picked up three saves in goal, as Maine's Nemanja Kostic (1-3) tallied seven.
The Bears (3-0-0) entered the national rankings this week at No. 21 and are back in action at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, against in-state rival the University of Rhode Island.
