Men’s Soccer Falls at Dartmouth, 2-0, in Season Finale

HANOVER, N.H. – Noah Paravicini and Matt Danilack provided the scoring for Dartmouth as the Brown men's soccer team fell to the Big Green, 2-0, in the regular season finale Saturday at Burnham Field.

Dartmouth improved to 8-4-5 overall and 5-1-1 in the Ivy League to claim at least a share of the league title. The Bears, needing a win to stay alive in the league title chase, wrapped up the season at 8-8-1 overall, 3-3-1 in the Ivies.

Matthew Chow (Vancouver, British Columbia) and Nico Lozada (Dallas, Texas) paced the Bears with two shots apiece. Senior Erik Hanson (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) made four stops in the loss for the Bears, while James Hickok made two saves for the Big Green.

Paravicini opened up the scoring late in the first half as he scored in the 42nd minute, converting a shot from the top right of the box for the one-goal advantage. Emmanuel Arteaga was credited with an assist on the play.

Dartmouth outshot the Bears, 4-2, in the opening 45 minutes.

Danilack added another goal at 67:46 for the two-goal lead, when he headed in a pass from Justin Donawa for his third tally of the season.

From there, Dartmouth limited Brown to two shots the rest of the way, as Hickok turned away a final bid from Christian Rodriguez (New York, N.Y.) with 20 seconds remaining to seal the win.

Dartmouth outshot Brown, 10-5, overall, while the two teams were even in corner kicks, 3-3.
