Pomeroy Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After scoring his first goal of the season, freshman forward Nate Pomeroy (Groton, Mass.) of the Brown University men's soccer team was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Pomeroy logged his first collegiate goal to help lead Brown to a 5-0 shutout over Marist on Friday night in the team's lone match of the week. Pomeroy put the game out of reach just before half, scoring on a one-timer from a cross just 1:53 before intermission to give the Bears a commanding 4-0 advantage. Pomeroy is the first Bear to win an Ivy League weekly award this season.
