Providence, RI- The Brown men's soccer team returns home on Sunday evening after spending 10 days on its international tour.
On Wednesday, the Brown soccer team traveled to Barcelona where they spent the evening walking Las Ramblas, the most famous street in Barcelona, and watched the Champions league game of Barcelona and AC Milan on television.
The following day, Spain had a general strike that lasted for 24 hours where almost all of the country shut down and everyone stopped working. Large protests filled the streets in Barcelona, but the Bears were able to spend the day at Lloret De Mar on the Costa Brava, a beach community to avoid any problems.
The next two days the team enjoyed time on the beach, and played against BK Hacken, a Swedish 1st Division, U19 team and tied them 2-2. Brown also competed against C.F. Reus Deprtiu, a Spanish team. The Bears played against a mix of their U20 and reserve players and lost, 3-0.
Brown competed in its final match of the trip, a game against Nesodden, and won 1-0. The team then spent the evening in Barcelona and watched Barcelona play Athletic Bilbao in the famous Nou Camp.
