Mens Soccer Faces In-State Rival URI on Saturday
Providence, RI- The Brown men’s soccer team travels to Kingston, R.I. on Saturday evening to take on the University of Rhode Island at 7:00 p.m. at the URI Soccer Complex.
The Bears boast a 3-0-1 record as sophomore forward Austin Mandel (Tarzana, CA) leads the squad in scoring with two goals. Sophomore Sean Rosa (Montreal, Quebec) has tallied a goal and an assist, while junior Jon Okafor (Verona, NJ) and Thomas McNamara (West Nyack, NJ) have each recorded a goal. Leading the defense is goalkeeper Paul Grandstrand (Orono, MN), who has recorded three shutouts in his 3-0-1 record in net.
URI enters this weekend 2-3-0 on the season and is coming off a
recent 2-1 loss to Hartford. Pacing the offense is Gary Crooks,
Erkko Puranen, Jonathan Pereira and Jamie Eckmayer with one goal
apiece. Chris Pennock (2-3-0) has played and started in all five
games in net, and has tallied 26 saves.
