Mens Soccer Announces 2009 Schedule

Providence, RI- Head Men's Soccer Coach Mike Noonan has recently
announced his team's 2009 schedule. Brown plays eight home
matches, including five during the non-conference slate at
Stevenson Field as captains Thomas Thunell '10 and David Walls '11
lead the Bears into the 2009 season.
Brown opens its extremely competitive
non-conference slate with Lehigh (Sept. 6) at 3:00 p.m., and then
welcomes SMU to Providence for its first game of the annual
Adidas-Brown Soccer Classic (Sept. 11). The Bears close out
the tournament with Adelphi of the Atlantic Soccer Conference at
2:30 p.m. on Sunday the 13th. Brown travels to Bryant
(Sept. 15) and then URI (Sept. 19) for 7:00 p.m. games before
heading out west to challenge the top two teams of the West Coast
Conference.
The Bears are slated to take on Santa Clara at
7:30 p.m. PT (Sept. 25) and then San Francisco at 2:00 p.m. on the
27th. The Broncos were picked second in the WCC's preseason
poll, as the Dons were tabbed first as the defending WCC
Champions.
Brown closes out September with a home game
against Boston University (Sept. 30) at 7:00 p.m., and opens Ivy
League competition at Columbia (Oct. 3) at 7:00 p.m. Brown
hosts both Princeton (Oct. 10) and Rutgers (Oct. 13) for 7:00 p.m.
kick-offs and then hits the road to face Harvard (Oct. 17) at 1:30
p.m., St. John's (Oct. 20) at 7:30 p.m., and then Cornell (Oct. 24)
at 1:00 p.m.
A tough November pits the Bears against the
defending Ivy League Champions Penn and Dartmouth. The Bears
host the Quakers at 1:00 p.m. on Nov. 1 and then follows it up with
a road game against Yale (Nov. 7). Brown then caps off its
2009 regular season campaign against the Big Green (Nov. 15) at
1:00 p.m. at Stevenson Field.
