Brown's Jordan Burke Named Finalist For Tewaarton Award

Providence, RI - Brown All-American senior goalie Jordan Burke was been named a finalist for the Tewaarton Award, which will be presented to the Collegiate Lacrosse Player of the Year on May 28.
Burke, a finalist for the prestigious Tewaarton Award for the second straight season, is also a finalist for the Lowe's Senior Class Award for excellence in the classroom, in the community and on the field.
Burke has helped the Brown men's lacrosse team to a 10-2 record and a 14th place national ranking in 2009. He currently leads the Ivy League and ranks sixth nationally in save percentage (.626) and saves per game (12.4). His 7.6 goals against average is 11th nationally.
Burke was named the Ivy League Player of the Year in 2008 after leading the Bears to the Ivy League Championship. A Commerce, Organizations and Entrepreneurship concentrator, Burke was named a second team USILA All-American and the New England Player of the Year.
Burke and the Bears will travel to cross-town rival Providence College on Saturday, April 18th for an evening match-up with the Friars. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
